These are images of the work I produced for the 'Defined by Light' project. I photographed them against a black background to emphasise the structure and shape of the objects. The aim is that plants will be grown within these and they will grow around the structure towards a light source so the resulting form is literally defined by light. There would also be a range of sizes and they can be placed inside or out.
This is a model of one of the pieces made on SketchUp.
The black and white - negative and positive - image, highlights the strength of the structure. It would be great to see the structure supporting growing plants. There is an ambiguity related to scale so seeing the "object" in a range of scales would be really interesting.
